Welcome, Build A Happier, Greener Block Las Vegas Escapees

 until Today at 11:55pm
Was checking the resource section of an interesting website
and then I saw that there was no related MeetUp here in Las Vegas, so I decided to create one… anyone else want to join up??
These prospective MeetUps are intended to be complementary to the Green Jelly meetings and related #ShiftVegas gatherings. They will build upon meaningful resources and creatives which are linked by the expanding EscapetheCity network and label.

Escape the City

We are on a mission to liberate talented people from unfulfilling corporate jobs. BY: ROB, DOM & MIKEY – Join Us…

Escape the City – "Do Something Different!"

Escape the City was started by the two of us: Dom Jackman and Rob Symington. We both worked in 'The City' and bonded over a shared feeling of 'surely there is more to life than this?'

We started our careers as management consultants. Neither of us regrets this because we gained invaluable experience. However, once we began to reflect on where we wanted to be in five, ten, and fifteen years time, we both realised that we didn't want to pursue our careers in the corporate mainstream. We both wanted to do something a bit different, something that we genuinely cared about.

The truth is many graduates go into corporate jobs with no great plan other than learning a lot and gaining good experience. After a while many begin asking the same question that we did: 'what else could I be doing with my life other than living for the weekend?'

Escape the City was born the day that we were sitting in neighbouring cubicles at work and admitted to each other that we both thought there was more to life than what we were doing. We then realised that we were far from being alone in feeling frustrated and unfulfilled in 'The City' and that thousands of our fellow corporate professionals felt the same way. So we decided that we would build something to help all these people and, through doing so, to engineer our own escapes as well!

Welcome to Escape the City

Hello rick passo,

We decided to build Escape the City when we were looking to make our own transitions away from the corporate world. We know how hard it is to discover exciting new opportunities. We are building the solution.

Escape the City is a community built around a single belief – that life is too short to do work that doesn’t matter to you. It is for ambitious professionals like you who want to find exciting jobs, start businesses and go on big adventures.

Suggested starting points:

1. HOW TO USE ESCAPE THE CITY: Some hints and tips and a list of ways to start interacting with our swiftly growing international community: Click here

2. HOW TO FIND WORK YOU LOVE: Check out our recently published e-book (use the GETGOING discount code to get £10 off):Click here

3. SAY HELLO:We’re really accessible through these channels: come find us on Twitter, Facebook and your local Esc Meetup.

Escape the City started in London but the concept of escaping unfulfilling corporate jobs is truly global and we now have a base in New York. We’ve got really exciting plans for Esc and the platform will be evolving fast.

This is just the beginning! Watch this space and do stay in touch.
