oin with NYA and it many partners over the next several months for our partnership with not only our local entertainers but a multitude of community partners as we raise the level of awareness about the many local and statewide services and initiatives serving youth, families and individuals.

NYA will partner with and showcase a total of 16 non-profit organizations in this years series and assist other well meaning national and international efforts as well (see below). To view the various Jazz artists that will performing during the series please view the attached pdf file.

Las Vegas/Henderson/NLV (April 1 2011)– Let your imagination run wild starting Tuesday, May 3,
2011 when Cadillac Ranch Restaurant – American Bar & Grill at Town Square Las Vegas welcomes Imagination
Celebration’ Jazz For Peace series. The series will run for 3 months with a total of 16 shows featuring some of
Vegas best internationally and nationally acclaimed Jazz musicians. The groups have come together for a cause to
foster the message of local and global peace. The series is also a part of a prelude that will lead up to NYA’s
Imagination Celebration in Town Square Park on Saturday October 15, 2011 which celebrates diversity through the
The many evenings of entertainment with the jazz greats are also part of a fundraising and educational
effort to showcase the mission and vision of other local non profit organizations during each of the 16
events. Other NYA fundraising efforts to benefit local families and youth include teaming up with the Justin
Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open ( to help raise funds for both the
Shriners Hospitals and NYA’s great causes.
On the first Sunday of the special Cinco de Mayo week May 8th, the non-profit organization
Hispanic Museum of Nevada will show case art coordinating with Johnny Romero. Local Jazz artists
participating in the series coordinated by our Artistic Director James Barela are: Rocky Gordon; Ken
Levine; Brothers Ali; Wayne DeSilva; Absoludicrous; Blu7; John Salzano, Tony DeAugustine, Outside
In Trio, Jeff Davis, just to name a few.
NYA will also be kicking off its annual “What Peace Means to Me” art and essay contest for youth across
Nevada. The winners of the contest will be awarded in October at the Town Square Park during the 3rd Annual
Imagination Celebration festivities.
Imagination Celebration – Jazz For Peace Series is presented by the Nevada Youth Alliance in partnership
with Town Square Las Vegas, Cadillac Ranch Restaurant – American Bar & Grill; Amerigroup Community Cares;
GES; Levi Strauss & Co. just to name a few.
Important Notice: To support victims of the disaster in Japan, NYA will donate a portion of the proceeds
from the events to International Medical Corps. The non-profit organization delivers emergency health
care and supplies to devastated communities worldwide and has teams in Japan supporting relief efforts.
